PAt;E 6-A H()(;ANSVILLE I-I,ME NEWS - THURSDAY, JAN. 17, 2002 c3 HOGANSVILLE DEATHS AND FUNERALS Jack R. Sitton November 7, 1935 - December 26, 2001 Jack R. Sitton, 66, of Greenville, died December 26 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service was con- ducted December 28 at Primrose United Methodist Church in Meriwether Count3: The Reverend David Pickard and the Reverend Ken Linnell officiated and interment was in the Luthersville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Stocls, Chris Conley, Matt Conley, John Rowe, Hugh Griffeth, Ricky Sitton, and Stanley Waller. Mr. Sitton was born November 7, 1935 in Meriwether County, son of the late Lupper and Aurelia Rowe Sitton. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he served in the National Guard, attended Primrose United Methodist Church, and retired as a supervi- sor from Durand-Wayland, Inc. in LaGrange. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nannie Belle O'Neal Sitton of Greenville; one daugh- ter and son-in-law, Jackie and Ramon Rodriquez of Rosenburg, Texas; two sons, Ed Sitton of Decatur and Jerome Sitton of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Lyons of Forest Park and Mrs. Yvonne Brock of McDonough; one brother, Lanier Sitton of Crossville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Carmen Rodriquez and Tony Rodriquez, both of Rosenburg, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hoga.ville was in charge of arrangements. Charles E. Thompson February 10, 1941 - December 26, 2001 Charles E. Thompson, 60, of Hogansville, died December 26th at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service was conducted December 29th in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge officiated and interment was in Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City, with full military honors. Mr. Thompson was born February 10,1941 in Clayton County, son of the late Robert and Gracie Jackson Thompson. A resident of Riverdale before making his home in Hogansville ten years ago, he was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, retiring as a Specialist 5 from the U.S. Army. He also retired from Aluminum Systems of Atlanta after fourteen years of service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Madie B. Thompson of Hogansville; one stepdaugh- ter, Mrs. Carol Huckaby of Woodbury; two stepsons, Gary Basto of Morrow and Michael Basto of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, James Sams of Stockbridge; one sister, Mildred Parrant of Peachtree City; six step-grand- children; and one step-great-grandchild. The Claude A McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mary Ocheltree September 8, 1913 - December 22, 2001 Mrs. Mary Arnold Ocheltree, 88, of Hogansville, died December 22nd at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sally Willingham in St. Petersburg, Florida. A memorial service was conducted December 31st at the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville. The Reverend Marion Shivers officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Mrs. Ocheltree was born September 8, 1913 in Corinth, daughter of the late William Pettice Arnold and the late Ida Miller Arnold. A graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, she retired as pay- master for Uniroyal, Inc. in Hogansville after thirty years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, was active in tie United Methodist Women, and was the wife of the late Melbourne H. Ocheltree. Survivors include two daughters and sons in-law, Sally and Fred Willingham, Jr. and Melba and Karl Gustke, all of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Fran McGee of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Dee Lunsford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in mem- -0r of Mrs. Ocheltree may be made to the First. United Methodist Church of HogansviUe. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements. Roy T. Emory March 25, 1944 - December 23, 2001 Roy T. Emory, 57, of Arnco, died December 23 at Newnan Hospital. The funer- al service was conducted December 26th in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Paul Stitcher officiated and inter- ment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. Mr. Emory was born March 25, 1944 in Heard County, and lived in Coweta County most of his life. He was retired from Atlanta Wire Works. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ann Emory of Arnco; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Seals of Newnan and Mrs. Brenda Gosdin of Hogansville; one son, Donnie Emory of Senoia; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Janet Dutton of Newnan and Mrs. Jennifer Freeman of Griffin; his mother, Mrs. Maude Emory Colley of Hogansville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hogan of Grantville, Mrs. Ethel Johnson and Mrs. Flo Lane, both of Hogansville; ten grand- children; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Emory, and his father, Quillian Emory. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Inez H. Smith May 6, 1927 - December 21, 2001 Mrs. Inez Hammock Smith, 74, of Greenville, died December 21 at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange. The funeral service was conducted December 23rd at New Hope Church in Meriwether County. The Reverend Cecil Dix officiated and inter- ment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Reynolds, Gene Reynolds, Gary Walton, Bob Cooke, Jamie Purgason, Butch DeLoach, Marion Connell, and Chuck Cato. Mrs. Smith was born May 6, 1927 in Gay, Meriwether County and was a member o Union Baptist Church. She retired fronl Uniroyal, Inc. and had been active in the Grantville Senior Center. Survivors include a daughter and son-m la; Shirley and Larry. Massey January 16, 1918- January 11, 2001 Mrs. Patra Daniel Massey, 83, of the Irene Oak Community of Meriwether County, died January 11 at West Georgia Medical in LaGrange. The funeral service was ducted January 13 at Union Baptist in the St. Marks Community of Meriwethet County. The Reverend Bill Smith officiated and interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were B.J. Kendricks, Briao Ferrell, Russell Willingham, Marvi Willingham, Michael Wofford, and Fre Massey, Jr. Mrs. Massey was born January 16, 191 in Meri ether County, daughter of the lat Starks Ellis Daniel and the late Nell Denne' Daniel.
