Callaway Girls Win 183'-8 Improve Record to By BRYAN GETER The Callaway Lady Cavaliers added three victo- ries to the win column this week and improved its record to 18-8 overall and 10- 5 in the region. The Lady CAVs started out slowly against Crawford County scoring only four points in the first period, but bounced back in the second period to take a 24-17 lead at the intermission. Callaway took a slim four point lead into the final quar- ter, but outscored the Lady Eagles by eight in the final luarter to take a 55-43 victo- ry. Bridget Phillips and Shacarra Pickett each socred 12 points to lead the Lady Cavaliers. Callaway defeated Manchester on Saturday evening. The Lady CAVS played TriCounty on Tuesday and will play Macon County at home on Friday. The Cavaliers won two out of three games this week as they regular season is counting down and the play- offs began. Callaway who record overall is 11-11 and 8-7 in region, defeated Crawford County 66-61 on Friday as the CAVS struck gold at the free throw line hitting eight of ten shots in the final minute. The Cavaliers led 38-23 at the break and by 17 in the second half. Crawford County cut the lead in the third, but Callaway held on for the win. Reggie Jackson led the CAVS with 24 points and Reggie Tigner netted 16. Last Tuesday, the CAVS defeated Pike County, 70-66 in a big region contest. Reggie Jackson led the scor- ing with 32 points and was followed by Bryan Jackson with 15. Manchester defeated Callaway on Saturday. TriCounty and Macon County come calling this week.
