Gospel Set for Feb. 28
Everyone is invited to an old fashioned Holy Ghost Gospel
Singing on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Grantville
Church of God, at 30 Main St. in Grantville.
Rev. Johnny Nunis, pastor, will host the singing.
Featured guests are Young Spirit from Manchester; Mrs.
Lee Holloway from LaGrange; Dan Burdett from Grantville;
IAnda Griffin from Newnan and many others.
Admission is free and everyone is invited to this night
of praising God in song where shouting is permitted and
where healing and souls are being saved is to be expected.

Joel C. Vaughn III
Ju/y 8, 1950 - February 9, 2004
Hogansville Resident
Joel C. Vaughn, III, 53, of Hogansville, died Monday, Feb.
9 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb.
11 in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral
Home of Hogansville. Rev. L.B. Brooks officiated and inter-
ment followed in the Corinth Cemetery.
Born July 8, 1950, in Hogansville, Mr. Vaughn lived in
the Hogansville area most of his life. He was employed at
TAB Textile Company in Opelika, AL.
Survivors include two daughters, Dottie Pate of Griffin
and Kelli Vauglm of Cedar Bluff, AL; two sons, Jerry Vaughn
of Cedar Bluff and Ken Stapler of Newnan; his father, Joel
C. Vauglm, jr., of Griffin; one sister, Linda Edwards, also of
Griffin; and three grandchildren, Jonah ~aughn, Jacob
Vauglm and Taylor Guthrie. He was preceded in death by
his mother, Gertrude Hawk Harrison.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of
Hogansville was in charge of arrangements.
James W. Brasiel
January 30, 1963 - February 7, 2004
Protestant by Faith
James Warren "Jim" Brasiel, of Columbus, died Saturday,
Feb. 7 at his home. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m.,
Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Warm Springs Road Church of Christ in
Columbus.
Mr. Brasiel was born Jan. 30, 1963, in Thomaston, son of
the late James Edward Brasiel and Barbara Yates of
Hogansville. He was protestant by faith.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife,
Melanie S. Brasiel of Columbus; four sisters, Rachel Gaddy,
Becky Cosper, JoAnne Cook and Jennifer Knight, all of
Hogansville; one niece and three nephews.
It is the desire of the family that flowers be omitted.

The Social Critters held
their regular meeting Feb. 5
at the Dolly Building and had
an early Valentine's celebra-
tion.
J.C. Daniel gave a very
interesting devotional and 22
members were present.
The group enjoyed
exchanging Valentines, each
guest received a valentine
bag of goodies and many
received prizes for compet-
ing in the games enjoyed by
the group.
They all enjoyed the deli-
cious soup meal.
Dr. Joe and Doris Almand
are editing a bulletin each
month featuring a member
of the group.
