& :nior Center Offers Fun, Friendship for All

The ttogansville Senior Center
located at 407 Church Street (the old
Crocker Elementary School) has
something for all seniors.
For s(me people, it is a nutrition
center, set'ring lunch five days a week
and carry-out between 34-38 home
delivered meals each day.
"To anyone who is home bound,"
said Linda t)rescott, the site dire&or,
"'it is a lifesaver not to have to worry
about a meal."
th'escott said the meals are planned
by a state nutritist.
The center also has a library and
a large screen television for those who
like to read and watch TV, she added.
The center has board games that
keep the mind active arida quilting
room for those who like'to sew.
Prescott said the seniors walk
inside the building during the winter
months and have several exercise
machines that work the body..
Other helps that the center offer
is legal aid quarterly, health screen-
ing monthly and speakers 6ach month.
There is a beauty shop located on
campus, also.
"If you haven't tried us," Prescott
said, '"you are missing" a treat." She
said that there are 35-45 people at the
center daily.
The van runs on Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday. and art
classes are weekly and a ceramic room
with molds are also available with
someone to help you.
• Many enjoy bingo on Tuesdays and
Thursdays and a birthday party is held
each month.
Prescott said ffyou are home bound
and need a meal or just lonesome and
would like to come to the center, call
the center at 637-6606.
Prescott said, who knows, you
might meet a friend there.
Prescott said the seniors are look-
ing forward to the Mayor's Walk on
April 30 and the Senior Olympics are
comingin May.
The Center's Thrift Shop will have
a sale beginning on March 12 -22.
Call the if you would like for the
shop to be open.
Prescott said one can fill a bag with
goodies for $3.

Holy Week Events

Hob .Week will be observed with services at the
Hogansvilte First Baptist Church beginning Wednesday night,
March 27 and running through Friday night, March 29.
Services times are 7 o' clock nightly.
Dr. Billy V¢. Burks of Hogansville, interim pastor of
Franklin First Baptist Church, speaks
Wednesday night. Speaking at services on Maunday
Thursday, March 28 and Good Fi'iday, March 29 will be Dr.
I,arry \\;: Draper of Rome.
Special music each night will be provided by the Adult
Choir of Hogansville First Baptist Church under the direc-
tion of Mrs. Lynn,Campbell.
Child care is provided for birth-three years old.
The public has a cordial invitation to attend these Holy ,
Week services.
