Howard, she raised her children and made a home for her family in many locations during her husband's Navy career, and returned to Newnan in 1961 following his retirement from active Naval service. Mrs. Howard was a photography enthusiast with her favorite subjects being friends and family. She was a strong and committed Christian and was of the Christian Science faith. Survivors include her sons, Bruce B. Howard, Jr. and his wife, Martha of Sharpsburg; Dr. Gary Howard and his wife, Debbie of Senoia; her daughters, Phyllis Howard and Pamela Howard, four grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchil- dren. Rice, 56, of LaGrange, died Thursday, March 14, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service was conducted Sunday, March 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeremy Royster officiated and interment was held in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. Born Dec. 3, 1956, in LaGrange, Mr. Rice was a veteran of service in the U. S. Navy and had lived in LaGrange most of his life. He was employed as a welder at Caterpillar, Inc. Survivors include his wife, Joann Rice of LaGrange; daughters and sons in-law, Robin and Jamie Reynolds of Roanoke, AL, Barbara Jean and Harvis Holloway of LaGrange; his mother, Nancy Rice of LaGrange; brother and sister in- law, Freddie and Robin Rice of Newnan; grandson, Casey Holloway; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was pre- ceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Crider; father, Garvin Lee Rice; sister, Vickie Hancock; and brother, Danny Lamar Rice. Claude A. Mrs. Smith was born May 2, 1928, in Troup County, daugh- ter of the late Dave Reid Woodruff and Mary Beth Sims Woodruff. She was a lifelong resident of Troup County, was a member of Liviiig Waters Baptist Church, and retired from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell after 45 years of service. Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, Kenneth and Pat Harris of Columbus, Phillip Harris of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Sandra Wynn of Newnan; sister, Betty Shepherd of LaGrange; three grandchildren; and seven great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Aaron Harris and Arthur E. (Buddy) Smith; son, Aaron Lee Harris; grand- son, Keuny Harris; and an infant grandson. Patricia Maxwell Lackey March 25, 1965 - March 14, 2013 Life-Long Troup County Resident Patricia Maxwell Lackey, 47, of LaGrange, died Thursday, March 14, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. A memorial service was conducted Monday, March 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Debbie Dollar and the Reverend Steve McGinnis officiating. Mrs. Lackey was born March 25, 1965, in LaGrange and was a lifelong resident of Troup County. She had been employed as a front end manager for Piggly Wiggly Stores. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Lackey; daugh- ter and son in-law, Holli and Robert Clendenin; son and daugh- ter in-law, Bill and Jennifer Hammond, all of LaGrange; her father and step-mother, James H. (Pete) and Geneva Maxwell of Ranburne, AL; sisters, Tracy Cronic and Tammey Hewell, both of Hogansville; and three grandchildren, Robert, Ryan, and Lauren. Enoch Michael (Mike) Moore Sept. 26, 1950 - March 16, 2013 U.S. Navy Veteran Enoch Michael (Mike) Moore, 62, of Hogansville, died Saturday, March 16, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service was conducted Tuesday, March 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Moore was born Sept. 26, 1950, in LaGrange, son of the late Enoch Melvin Moore and the late Essie Mae Bryant Moore. A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he also served as a Command Sergeant Major in the Georgia State Defence Force. Mr. Moore retired as a lieutenant after 18 years of service as a firefighter/EMT at the City of Morrow Fire Department. Survivors include his children, John P. Moore and his wife, Jessica of Luthersville, Andrew D. Moore and his wife, Hannah of Newnan, Mary E Vickery and her husband, Gregg, and Dixie Morris-Woodard and her husband, Quint, all of Hogansville; 13 grandchildren; his former wife who remained a close friend and ally, Cynthia Wells Requa of Cold Spring, NY; and sister, Sherry Moore of Grantville.. Whitlock April 2, 1927 - March 17, 2013 Army Veteran of WWII Hubert J. Whitlock, 85, of Hogansville, died Sunday, March 17, at Gentiva Hospice at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., today, March 21, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Randall Hodge and Emmett Clark officiating. Mr. Whitlock was born April 2, 1927, in Fayetteville, son of the late George and Yalu Louise Harris Whitlock. An Army veteran of World War Two, he served in the first wave of the 29th Infantry at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was a member of American Legion Post 186 in Greenville, was Baptist by faith, and retired as a captain from the College Park Police Department after 27 years of service.
