Reynolds, 73, of Hogansville, Little areh 21st at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service was conduct- ed March 23rd in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun offi- ciated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Pallbearers were Cliff Granger, Jr., Kevin Carlisle, Steven Reynolds, Phil Waldrop, Robert Allen, and Clifford Granger. Honorary pallbear- ers were Fannie Mac Cannon, Gerald Granger, Leroy Allen, Beverly Bartley, Barbara Wessinger, and Dr. Richard Carter. Mrs. Reynolds was born March 11, 1930 in Hogansville, daughter of the late Joseph Leonard Carroll and the late Minnie Cavender Carroll Cannon, and was the stepdaughter of the late Earl D. Cannon. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, was a past president of the Hogansville Pilot Club, and was a former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was the wife of the late Harold Loyd Reynolds. Survivors include one son, E. Lamar Reynolds of Hogansville; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Harry Carlisle, also of Hogansville; eight grandchildren, Kristy Carlisle, Kevin Carlisle, Steven Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Ange!a Reynolds, Shelley Reynolds, Shannon Davis, and Sissy Hudson and five great-grand- children, Logan Carlisle, Sawyer Reynolds, Noah Hudson, Libby Davis and Garrett Davis. In addi- tion to her parents and husband, she was pre- ceded in death by a son, Michael Loyd Reynolds. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrange- ments. Hoyt A. Smith October 24, 1923 - March 21, 2003 Hoyt A. Smith, 79, formerly of Grantville, died March 21st at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin. The funeral service was conducted March 24th at the graveside in the Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery Pallbearers were Ricky Pilgrim, Stanley Gentry, Ricky Prickett, Edward Arrington, David Whitley, and Kenneth Shelton. Mr. Smith was born October 24, 1923 in Coweta County, son of the late Drew and Beulah Short Smith. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a lifelong resident of Coweta County, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moreland, and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of American Legion Post 75 and VFW Post 4629 in LaGrange. Survivors include two daughters, June Harper of Newnan and Christie Olko of Lanett, Ala.; three sons, Wayne Smith of Newnan, Gene Smith of Luthersville, and Donnie Smith of Lanett, Ala.; one sister, Dorothy Murphy of Senoia; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by a son, William Thomas (Tommy) Smith. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrange- ments. Mrs. Martha Cousins March 22, 2003 Mrs. Martha Page Cousins, 86, of Greenville, wife of the late A. Roy Cousins, died peacefully March 22nd at West Georgia Medical Center. She was attended by a loving and admiring fam- ily. This completed a gratifying life as a student, scholar, teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, humanitarian, mentor and matriarch. She cherished independence while relishing the company and camaraderie of family, extend- ed family and friends. She had an enthusiastic love for her church and her religion while being sufficiently enlightened to happily acknowledge the virtues and beliefs of all those whom she encountered on her long and joyful journey that started in Dade County. She can be praised and admired at death without the least exaggeration of her deeds and outlook in life. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Lamar Cousins of Marietta and Dr. Lucian Cousins and wife, Diane, of LaGrange; sister, Sally Page; sis- ters-in-law, Virginia Page and Kathleen Page of Trenton; grandchildren, Dr. Holley Meers and husband Michael of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Luke Cousins and wife Elissa of Atlanta, Albert Cousins of Kennesaw, Lucy Cousins of Dahlonega and great-grandson, Luca Cousins. Funeral services were conducted March 23rd at Union Baptist Church in Meriwether County; interment was in the Luthersville Cemetery. HERO- Lance Corporal William Allen Drake, a 2002 graduate of Callaway High School, joined the It/larines January 1, 2002 and graduated from Parris Island, South Carolina on March 29th. He then went to school in Meridian, Mississippi where he received a certificate in Aviation Supply and Accounting on July 19. From there he was stationed at Yuma, Arizona as a part of MALS-13 until his deployment to the Persian Gulf Will is the son of Lori P. Drake of Hogansville and David H. Drake, Sr. of Winston-Salem, N.C. Other rela- tives include a sister, Michelle Drake; a niece, Keely Moon; aunts, Lisa Pike, Donna Pike,Amy Pike; uncles and spouses, Ricky and Cathie Pike, David and Bobble Pike and many cousins. Ossie Set for Duty Army Spec. Cameron B. Ossie has arrived for duty at Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta. The special- ist is assigned to the 347th Rescue Wing.
