Members of the
Mountville Community Club
met March 18 to hear Kent
Edmonds speak on
"Introduction to Fly Fishing
in West Georgia" and pres-
ent a program of slides.
Edmonds is a full-time fly
fishing guide and instructor.
He is a Federation of Fly
Fishers-certified teacher,
and has been published in
national fly-fishing and
i
regional magazines. With
over 30 years of fishing from
Montana to the Caribbean, he
knows fly fishing.
However, Edmonds
pointed out the private lakes
at CaUaway Gardens' beauti-
ful botanical gardens are the
perfect place for spectacular
Edmonds held a fly-tying
demonstration for the young
fishermen in the Mountville
Community Club.

Daniel welcomed members
and guests: Kent and Judy
Edmonds, Ronnie Beard and
son Luke, all of LaGrange;
Vickie Teall and sons Ethan
and Evan, Big Springs
Community; Paul and Suzy
Jones and sons Casey and
Cody of Mountville. (Paul
Jones and Ronnie Beard are
with the Department of
Natural Resources. Jones
works out of the Manchester
office with .Fisheries; and
Beard works with the West
Point Lake Wildlife
Management Area, Game
Management Section.)
The devotion was pre-
sented by Jodie Newsome.
• She is a junior at Callaway
High School, and daughter of
Charles and Nancy Newsome
of Mountville.
Hostesses for the dinner
included Alison Wilson,
Angela Chambers, and
Nancy Newsome. A St.
Patrick's Day arrangement
of shamrock, green and white
top hat and beads was placed
on the serving tables.
Reports were given by
Jackie Jones, secretary; and
by Daniel, in the absence of
Wanda Costley, treasurer.
President Daniel recog-
nized all club members who
have March birthdays.
Ferrell Towns led the group
in singing "Happy Birthday"
to those honored. One of the
club's organizers, Mrs. Ethel
T. Caudle, celebrated her 98th
birthday at her home in
Mountville with family and
friends on March 23.
Daniel reported the next
Mountville Community Club
meeting will be April 22 with
Mrs. Emily Sheffield pre-
senting the program.
HONORED- Joseph Knight
has been chosen as
Callaway High School's rep-
resentative for the Hugh
O'Brien Youth Leadership
Award. (HOBY) Joseph is
a sophomore at CHS where
he is a member of the Key
Club, SADD, FCA, and
BETA Club as well as a
member of the Varsity
Soccer Team. Joseph is
also a member of First
Baptist's Youth Group, and
he is a Life Scout working
toward his Eagle Scout
Award. He will attend the
Youth Leadership
Conference May 17th-19th
at Oglethorpe University in
Atlanta.
