HOGANSVII.LE HOME NEWS - APRIL 19, 2001 PAGE 7 Children&apos; Week Celebrated By Frances Robinson The Week of "Young Child Celebration" was held in during the week of April 2-6. By Frances Robinson DAY - The children from Kids Kountry Leaming Center Child Care Leaming Center met in the park for activities. Each year, during the month of April, a time is set aside to rec- ognize the importance of quality child care and the accomplish- ments of those working in this area. The week of April 2-6 was set aside this year by the National Association of Young Children. Our local organization, the West Georgia Association for Young Children (made up of several pro- grams throughout the county), joined in this celebration with a week of activities. On Monday, April 2 staff mem- bers and children from Kids Kountry Learning Center and Hogansville Child Care Learning Center met in the park in Hogansville for the signing of a Proclamation by Mayor Wilson St. Clair. For this very special occa- sion, Chief of Police Hilton Odom and City Manager David Aldrich joined the mayor. Other activities included "Parent Appreciation" on Tuesday, April 3 with a "Breakfast on the Go" treat; "Staff Appreciation" on Thursday, April 5- treats were prepared for them and several parents brought in food for them, gifts and notes of appreciation. This week ended with games and activities at Green Field for the children of Kids Kountry and Hogansville Child Care.
