HOGANSVmLE HOME NEWS - THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2003 HOGANSVILLE D RAL Mrs. Betty Bruggeman Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn (Betty) Bruggeman, 73, of Hogansville, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service was conducted at two p.m., Monday, May 5, in the chapel of Clarke A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Helen Herny and the Reverend Marion Shivers officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Mrs. Bruggeman was born December 19, 1929, in Harvey Illinois, daughter of the late Gerald and Viloa Krisher Flynn. She had lived at Hogansville since 1980 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville and was active in the United Medodist Women. Survivors include her husband, Dennis M. Bruggeman of Hogansville, one daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Gregory Lorenz of Crete Ill.; three sons and their wives, Dennis, Jr. And Tern Bruggeman, of Greenwood, Ind., Brain Bruggeman of Hogansville, and David and Lee Bruggeman, of Roswell; one sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Paul Jones of Hendersonville N.C.; and six grandchildren, Luke Bruggeman, Ayyssa Bruggeman, Sam Bruggeman, Caitlin Burggeman, Will Bruggeman, and Cozy Lorenz. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Bruggeman may be made to the American cancer Society. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville wass in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Chester (Jim) Bryant Mr. Chester (Jim) Bryant, 93, of Grantville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Beauliea Convalescent Center in Newnan. The funeral service was conducted at two p.m., Thursday, May 1, in the chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Ellis Freeman officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Pallbearers were Bo Bryant, Perry Lee Charles Lee, Jr. Jeff Lee, Clay Bryant, Patrick Lee, and Thomas Lee Mr. Bryant was born July 21, 1909, in Haralson County, son of the late walter and Ida Vivian Couch Bryant. A resi- dent of Coweta County since 1912, he was a lifetime mem- ber of Bingham Masonic Lodge #53 in Moreland. He retired from Grantville Mills, and along with his brother, he operat- ed Bryant Brothers Hardware in Grantville and later oper- ated Bryant Nursery. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Charles Lee of LaGrange; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chet and Brenda Bryant of Dunwoody and James and Elizabeth Bryant of Waco, Texas; ten grandchildren; and six- teen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Alma Gill Bryant, and a son, Lewis G. (Buddy) Bryant. The Claude A. Mckibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements. Mr. C.S. Goode Mr. C. S. Goode, 69, of 2479 Victory Road in Franklin, Ga died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the West Georgia Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2003, at two p.m. At Mt. Zion Community Church, Highway 34 West, Franklin, Ga. Ruben M. Simpson will officiate and interment will follow at the Ebenzer Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin, Ga. Arrangements entrusted to Thrash and Sons Funeral Home 117 West Main Street in Hogansville. Mrs. Rosa C. Hendrix Mrs. Rosa Coursey Hendrix, 36, of Grantville, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at her home. A memorial service was conducted at two p.m., Sunday May 4th, in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Wesley Boatman officiating. Mrs. Hendrix was born September 19, 1966, in LaGrange, daughter of Mrs. Mildred Ivey Coursey of Luthersville and the late William Coursey. She had lived in Coweta and Meriwether counties most of her life and was a homemaker In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, James Hendrix of Grantville; two daughters, Sherry Bowman of Decatur and Megan Faulkner of Newfian; one son, Alan Faulkner of Grantville; one sister, Anglea Le'e Michelle Coursey of Newnan; two brothers, Jimmy Roger Gaines of Easley, S.C. And Johnny Euegene Gaines of Jasper; and two grandchildren. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cecil awnings Mr. Cecil R. awnings, 60, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. The funeral service was conducted at two p.m., Saturday, May 3, in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home in Hogansvile. The Reverend Max McCord officiated and interment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Pallbearers were Calvin awnings, Jr., deremy Mark awnings, Chris awnings, Bobby awnings, Randy Crews, and Roger Williamson. Born on May 18th, 1942 in Sylacauga, awnings was a veteran of service in the U.S. Army lived in Hogansville since 1965. He was a University, retired as a department manager at Inc. After thirty years of service, of Praise in LaGrange. He was a member of Ha American Legion Post 152 and the Troup County Survivors included two sons and daug and Stephanie awnings of Huntsville, Ala. And Jeff Annette awnings of Warner Robbins his mother of Sylacauga; one sister, Janice Coffey of Moulton, brothers, Wayne awnings and ,lack awnings, Birmingham, Bobby awnings of Phenix City, Ala., awnings of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Calvin Sylacauga; and two grandchildren. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Hogansville was in Charge of arrangements. Mr. Gerald E. Reeves Mr. Gerald E. Reeves, 74, of Sharpsburg, died April 30, 2003, at Newnan Hospital East. The funeral service was conducted at eleven a.m.. May 2, in the Chapel of the Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend officiated and interment was in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community county. Pallbearers were Michael Jordan, David St. John. St. John, Brain Cushard, E.J. Reeves and Cal Tant. Mr. Reeves was born August 25, 1928, in Panama  Florida, son of the late Orville and Bernice Williams He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean a member of the Methodist cIdrch had lived at for the past 30 years, and retired as a store manager forl after 37 years of service. Mr. Reeves enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Barber of Sharpsburg; three daughters and son-in-laws, Jacky Patterson and Cynithia and Michael St. John, Newnan, and Rebecca and Randy Cushard of Lut one son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Cathy Palmetto; tow sisters, Mrs. Berine Martin of Lone Mrs. Carolyn Russell of Thomaston; two brothers Reeves of Fayetteville and Roger Reeves of Dab eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
