Uses the same Dish antefina Memorial Day Service Set to Honor HogansvilleVeterans, hying and Hogansville will honor its military veterans, living and dead, in a Memorial Day serv- ice Monday, May 27, the 15th anniversary of the dedication of the town's war memorial. The theme of the service is, "They Shall Grow Not Old," from the poem, For the Fallen, by Laurence Binyon. The 10 a.m. service in Calvin Hipp Park on Main Street will include the laying of wreaths at the base of the monument's four granite tablets listing Hogansville men who died in World War I, World War II, Korea, or Vietnam. The Hogansville's American + Legion Post Number 152 will lay the wreath. Wendell Staley, the for- mer Hogansville resident and Chamber of Commerce pres- ident who conceived the idea for the war memorial in the mid-1980s, will be master of ceremonies. He will recognize sever- al key members of the memo- rial committee, which raised nearly $40,000 and mustered community support to design, build, dedicate, and maintain the monument. McKibben and Sons Funeral Hogansville. The Nell Awbrey officiated and interment was in Myrtle Cemetery in Hogans,AUe. Pallbearers were David Hamilton, Shane Hamilton Cleveland, Scott Cleveland, Justin Mosley, and Plowden. Mrs. Hamilton was born September 12, 1913 in County, daughter of the late Tom and Lizzie Dean A resident of Easley since 1993, she lived in Lanett, from 1973 until 1993, and in Hogansvflle prior to was a member of St. James United Methodist Hogansville and was the wife of the late Roy Hamilton Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Easley; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Hamilton of Roopville; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Hogansville; one brother, Tommy Thrower, Hogansville; five grandchildren, Kevin Cleveland and Mrs. Kim Petrillo, and Shane Hamilton, both of CarroUton; and two children, Cheyenne Hamilton of Carrollton and Cleveland of Opelika, Alabama.
