The Norreds have contacted Memorial co-chairman Ray Colemon and are com- I to the ceremony sponsored by the ]igansville Chamber of Commerce Mrs. Norred's attention was focused again in Hogansville after Calvin Thrower was fea- tured in one of a series of articles about the names on the Hogansville memorial. Mrs. Norred wants to meet the surviving mem- bers ofCalvin's family and see his cross at the cemetery. She thinks the silver cross Calvin had when he died was the one she gave many Hogansvflle veterans. The bank will open before and after the ceremony espe- ciaUy for the veterans, their families and the public. The bank is buying a new display case for this occasion and wants to use it for rotat- ing displays about Hogansville veterans. Others wishing to help with the ceremo- ny, please contact co-chairman Mike Johnson ({)mmittee at Calvin Hipp Park at 8 a.m. i nday, May 28th. She wishes to do homage i [Calvin Thrower, the young man with whom /[e sparked for two weeks in the summer of i];43 and who died during the landing at 'J ipan, June 1944. him the last day they saw each other. Additionally, two members of the late Robert Cousin's outfit in Vietnam may also attend the service. The Flag Bank in Hogansville has agreed to display the military memorabilia from (637-5002), or Tommy Thrower (637-6226). Also, the Chamber is looking for addition- al military memorabilia to display at Flag Bank.
