The Georgia Department of Community Affairs which administers the S,.'tion 8 Rental Assistance
Program will be accepting requests for applications in TALBOT County from the first 20 eligible families
to call our Carrollton office at 770-836-6660 on May 17, 2002. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., we Will accept
telephone cells only from the first 20 eligible applicants, and will stop taking calls on May 17, 2002, at
5:00 p.m., whicbever occurs first. No applications will be given at the door, and only one application will
be sent per phone call. Of this 20 applications, 18 will be reserved for callers who live or work in TAL-
BOT County. Hearing impaired applicants may apply for assistance by telephoning TDD-1-800-736-
1155 (Leave m. You will be contacted on the morning of the next business day.) Vsually impaired
applicants needing assistance to complete the application form should make DCA aware at the time the
form is requested.
Applicants already on DCKs Section 8 waiting list of Prosperity Voucher participants (WtW) do not need
to reapply.
Current residents of public housing units and persons on the waiting list for public housing must make a
separate application for Section 8 assistance to be considered for the Program. Completing an applica-
tion will not affect your status on the waibng list for other programs.
DCA does not discriminate in admission or access to its Federally assisted housing programs. Any indi-
vidual eligible to be served who has a visual or heanng impainment will be provided with information nec-
