The DRC will assist vic- tims impacted by extensive flooding in Troup and Harris counties through a state- funded Individual Assistance program. A state-funded Public Assistance program has also been initiated to help repair critical infrastructure in Troup, Harris and Meriwether counties. Governor Sonny Perdue earlier declared a State of Emergency in these counties allowing state resources to be used to assist in recovery efforts. A state -funded individual Assistance pro- gram will be implemented to provide supplemental hous- ing assistance to eligible vie- tiros who do not have an insurance policy that includes adequate coverage for additional living expens- es. Under this program, a fair market rental amount is identified for the specific counties, based on guidelines developed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Victims registering for assis- tance are required to bring proof of occupancy in the form of a current utility bill, voter registration card, tax or mortgage bill or insurance policy (current year).
