DIVISION, THE CITY OF HOGANSVILLE NOTIFIES THE
RESIDENTS OF HOGANSVILLE AND TROUP COUNTY
THAT A DISCHARGE OF UNTREATED WASTEWATER
OCCURRED ON JUNE 12, 2003 AT 7:55 P.M. THE SPILL
EMANATED FROM AN OVERFLOWING MANHOLE
WHICH WAS STOPPED UP DUE TO GREASE ACCU-
MULATION. THE BLOCKAGE WAS REMOVED AT 10:00
P.M. AMOUNT OF SPILL HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO
BE 1,200 GALLONS. THIS SPILL WAS IN THE VICINITY
OF THE NATURAL GAS SUB-STATION ON GEORGIA
HIGHWAY 54, EAST OF DOWNTOWN HOGANSVILLE.
SOME PORTION OF THE SPILL ENTERED A SMALL
STREAM WHICH FLOWS NORTHWEST TOWARD THE
BLUE CREEK RESERVOIR, SAMPLING AND MONI-
TORING OF THE STREAM ARE ON-GOING.
