Athens on Saturday
evening, May 24, to
celebrate the cou-
ple's 50th wedding
anniversary. The
couple was married
at Talmadge Heights
Baptist Church in
Athens on June 21,
1953 and has lived in
Manchester for 44
years. Some 45
friends and relatives
attended the gala
affair.

Glynda Thor of Powder Springs.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of
the late Joel and Christine Mathis of
Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Early and
Jackie Rogers of Sasser. She has one sister,
Brittney. She is a 1997 graduate of Lee County
High School in Leesburg. She is also a 2001
graduate of Georgia Southwestern State
University, where she earned a bachelors of
science degree in Psychology. She is a mem-
ber of the Kappa Delta sorority. She is cur-
rently employed as a special education
teacher for the Dougherty County School
System.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Cary
and Tommie Frazier of Rome and Hansel and
Betty Jane Stripling of Manchester. He has
one brother, Kevin. He is a 1996 graduate of
McEachern High School in Powder Springs.
He is also a 2002 graduate of Georgia
Southwestern State University, where he
earned a bachelors of arts degree in Political
Science. He is currently employed as a sales
representative for Illumination Systems of
Denver, CO.
The wedding is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
on Saturday, July 26 at Byne Memorial Baptist
Church in Albany. A reception will be held
at the Grand Island Club in Albany. Invitations
will be sent to family and friends. The cou-
ple will reside in Denver, CO.
