Christy Leich, Bruce, Jan, Joshua, and Jana Gossett were all confirmed at St. Matthews Charismatic Episcopal Church on Sunday, June 29. Bishop John Holloway presided over the special service that was attended by 45 friends and family. A dinner party followed at the International Cafe. Pictured are Christy Leich with Vicar Run Clemmer and Bishop John Holloway. St. Matthews meets at 5 p.m. On Sunday evenings with a midweek service at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Artist to Display at Depot Day Shanna Walston, the win- ner of this year's llth Congressional District High School Art Contest, will be displaying and selling some of her paintings on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. during Depot Day. The event is held on Main Street in Grantville at the for- mer Railroad Freight Depot, which was renovated sever- al years ago for community use under the auspices of a historic preservation grant. The Grantville Better Home Town organization conducts Depot Day on the first Saturday of each month to provide an opportunity for people to sell their art works, crafts, and yard sale type items. Grantville is located at Exit 35 on Interstate 85. It is not known which paintings Miss Walston will be bringing to Depot Day, but it is known that she will not be bringing the art contest winner "Golden Days, because that is on display in Washington, DC in the 2hnnel between the Capitol and the House of Representatives Office Building. Miss Walston, who grad- uated in May from Newnan High School, plans to attend the State University of West Georgia where she will major in early childhood education with the goal of finding inter- esting ways to teach which will incorporate art into the curriculum. She lives in Grantville with her parents, Howard and Nancy Walston.
