Slated Saturday
Gospel Singing is planned for Saturday night, July 26 at
Bethel Chapel Baptist Church located at 210 Handley Street
in LaGrange.
The featured singers include the Hendersons of Milton,
FL., the Seekers of Columbus, the Duvall Family of Breeman,
Nothing But Grace of LaGrange and others.
The singing starts at 7 p.m.
Hamburgers and hot dog plates will be available.

Mrs. Nona N. Schweizer
August 1, 1933 - July 18, 2003
Mrs. Nona Norman Schweizer, 69, of Cleveland and a for-
mer resident of Troup County, died Friday, July 18, 2003 at
Hospice LaGrange.
A memorial service was conducted at eight p.m., Tuesday,
July 22, at Alaxander's Gateway Chapel Funeral Home in
Cleveland, with the Reverend Chris Shelnutt officiating.
Mrs. Schweizer was born August 1, 1933, in Tift County,
daughter of the late David K. Norman and the late Myrtle
Richards Norman. A resident of Cleveland since 1991, she
was employed as executive assistant to the President of
Freudenberg/NOK, having served the company in Cleveland
and LaGrange for 23 years. She was the founder and direc-
tor or the Miss Chattahoochee Scholarship Pageant, served
on the advisory board of the Miss Georgia Pageant, was a
certified Miss Georgia Preliminary Judge, and was a for-
mer director of the Miss Troup County Pageant. A former
print and runway model, Mrs. Schweizer was a member of
Who's Who of International Management Professionals, and
was a lifetime member of Amicae for Truett McConnell
College.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and
Michael Johnson of LaGrange; a son and daughter-in-law,
David and Celeste Schweizer of Kennesaw; a sister and broth-
er-in-law, Sherry and Charles Spradlin Of Hogansville; and
ten grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Johnson, Victoria Rose
Johnson, Joshua Raymond Johnson, Rachel Nicole Johnson,
Gabriel Peter Johnson, Noah Seth Johnson, Matthew Elijah
Johnson, Jessica Terry Schweizer, Sophia Geneviere
Schweizer, and Tyler Geoffrey Buynoski.
Memorial contributions may be made to Miss Georgia
Scholarship Fund, 233 12th Street, Suite 316, Columbus, GA
31901; or to Hospice LaGrange Charitable Trust, 1510 Vernon
Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240.
Alexander's Gateway Chapel Funeral Home was in charge
