Winston Signs Scholarship Play Ball at Bethune-Cookman GETER 2002.2003 Callaway High School basket- star Carla Winston accepted a scholar- y to play basketball at Bethune- this fall. Winston was a four year letterman for Cavaliers and finished her career a 88-26 record including last year&apos;s of 24-9. Callaway's former coach, Evelyn Thompson, praised Winston's performance saying that Carla was an exceptional player who did alot of things for us. "She should really do well there.' Thompson said. Thompson recently resigned her position as the Lady Cavaliers head coach to take a job as recruiting coordinator for the University of Buffalo. Bethune-Cookman plays in the Mid- Eastern Athletic Conference and last year had its first winning season (14-13) in more than a decade.
