Library Adds 164 Books
Thanks to generous
hearts, students at
Hogansville Elementary
School are starting the year
with 164 new books in their
school library! In February,
the Friends of the Library
organization sponsored their
annual "Have a fteart,
Donate a Book" drive.
Students, parents, staff.
city leaders, and businesses
ordered new books to be
donated directly to the school
library'.
The books arrived during
the summer and are ready
for eager readers!

Having been presented with 67
bills of indictment, we have
retumed 67 True Bills. Inasmuch
as the majority of these indict-
ments involved attempts to man-
ufacture methamphetamine, and
a painfully high number involved
physical and sexual abuse of chil-
dren, we wish to make the fol-
lowing suggestions:
1. Judges who set bond be pro-
vided with sufficient timely infor-
mation so as to allow them to
easily differentiate between first
time offenders and repeat offend-
ers.
2. Encourage the prosecution of
sex offenders of children to the
full extent of the law.
3. Encourage through neighbor-
hood watch groups and all citi-
zens to be made more knowl-
edgeable and vigilant in the
detection and reporting of
methamphetamine "labs" to law
enforcement.
4. Promote programs such as
