Fall Gardening
Help Available
Many gardeners know what
to do in the garden, but are uncer-
tain of when to do it.
When is the best time to dig
and divide perennials?
When is the best time to apply
preemergent herbicides for con-
trol of winter weeds?
When should the last applica-
tion of fertilizer be made to the
lawn?
At the Backyard Association
meeting, these and many other
questions will be answered by
expert horticulturist, Kevin
Martin.
Martin manages Andy's II
Nursery in Coweta County and
has years of experience in grow-
ing and caring for ornamental
plants. Gardeners who attend the
session will learn how to optimize
the garden, preparing for the
winter months ahead.
The Backyard Association,
sponsored by Coweta County
Extension Service, is open to the
public and meets at 7 p.m. the
second Tuesday evening of each
month except December.
Reservations are required and
admission is free.
The sessions are held at the
Coweta County Extension
Service, 21 East Washington
Street in Newnan. For more
information, contact 770-254-
2620.
