- Twenty-one outstanding students were recently inducted Into the West Georgia
College chapter of the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society (NV-THS) at the
Center for International Business Development. NV-THS is a non-profit, national honor
for outstanding students enrolled in occupational, vocational, or technical programs.
is designed to provide recognition to those students making high scholastic
and to encourage excellence, skill development, honesty, leadership, citizenship,

May 27, 1924 - October 9, 2000
Curtis Thompson, 76, formerly of
passed away October 9 at the
Health Care Center after several years
health.
services were conducted October 11
Chapel of Tom Stutts & Son Funeral
in Franklin, with the Rev. Rick McMahan
were Charles Thompson, Jeremy
Kevin Thompson, Robert Thompson,
and Johnny Rich.
Music was provided by Leesa Stutts Cothran.
Interment followed in the Franklin City
Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born May 27, 1924 to the
late Will J. and Georgia Altoona Thomas
Thompson.
He was a farmer by trade and a Baptist by
faith.
He was a lifelong resident of Heard County.
Survivors include three sisters, Grace
Thompson of Franklin, Myrtle McCormick of
Crest View, Florida, and Albia Dollar of Bremen;
several nieces and nephews.

was in charge of arrangements.
'Passport Event' Set Saturday
With Junk and Garage Sales
Moreland is expecting a big
crowd on Saturday for the 2nd
Annual Pathway Passport
Event.
The event will include
garage sales, junk sales, swap-
ping and antiques.
Vegetable vendors are also
welcome.
Tables can be set up (for a
$10 donation to the Moreland
Historical Society) in the field
next to the Lewis
Grizzard/iYixie's Gift Shop on
Highway 29 in Moreland.
No registration is required.
The Pathway Passport
event is planned in conjunction
with Grantville and
Hogansville.
People are encouraged to
hit the side roads and enjoy the
beautiful weather.
The Erskine Caldwell.
Museum, Moreland Farmer's
Museum, and both antique
shops will be open in downtown
Moreland.
Additional space is avail-
able for setup along the side of
the mill if the space is filled on
Highway 29.
Passports can be Stamped
at the Farmer's Museum or at
Trixie's. A raffle will be held in
Grantville on Saturday night.
