Mrs. Flora Kirkland
April 9, 1912 - November 13, 2002
Mrs. Flora Ray Dolar Kirkland, 90, of
Kennesaw, died Wednesday, November 13,
2002 at Woodstock Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center.
The funeral service was conducted at one
p.m., Saturday, November 16, m the Chapel
of the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral
Home in Hogansville. Interment was in
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in
Coweta County.
Mrs. Kirkland was born April 9, 1912, in
Lee County, Alabama, daughter of the late
Bunion and Mattie Thomas Dolar. Before
making her home m Kennesaw, she lived in
LaGrange most of her life and was a mem-
ber of the Holiness church.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis
Kirkland; one daughter, Mildred I. Gable of
Kennesaw; one son, Bobby Ray Reese of
Hogansville; one sister, Pauline Rodgers of
Opelika, Alabama; two brothers, Lloyd Dolar
and Raymond Dolar, both of Mims, Florida;
13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren;
and 30 great-great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by four children, Louise
Gable, Clara Smith, an infant daughter, and
an infant son.

Funeral Home of Hogansville was m charge
of arrangements.
Mr. W. Verrell Price
December 23, 1917 - November 11, 2002
Mr. W. Verrell Price, 84, of LaGrange, died
Monday, November 11, 2002, at West Georgia
Medical Center in LaGrange.
The funeral service was conducted at
ll:30AM, Thursday, November 14, in the
Chapel of the Claude A. McKibbela and Sons
Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend
Ben Bennett officiated and interment was in
Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mr. Price was born December 23, 1917,
m Washington County, son of the late Arlie
Weaver Price and the late Minnie Powell
Price. He spent his childhood m Thomaston,
where he graduated from Robert E. Lee
Institute, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of
World War Two, having served as a first class
petty officer on the USS Talamanaca.
A resident of LaGrange since 1945, Mr.
Price was retired as a machinist from the
Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell after
more than 30 years of service. He was a mem-
ber and deacon of the First Christian Church
of LaGrange and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years,
Thelma Cook Price of LaGrange; two daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Peggy Rice of Whitesville
and Anne and Tom Carraway of
Lawrenceville; two sisters, Cecelia Isbell of
Eatonton and Janice Pitts of Escondido, CA;
one brother, Laudice Lee Price of
Philadelphia, PA; nine grandchildren, Bunny
Ewing, Xenia Oberg, Billie Williams, Janie
Williams, Tessa Shirley, Tommy Carraway,
Kelley Cofer and Rffskee Schubert; 21 great-
grandchildren; and one great-great grand-
daughter:

Mr. Travis Chaff in
April 17, 1925 - November 6, 2002
Mr. Travis Chaff in, Sr., 77, of Hogansville,
died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at West
Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
The funeral service was conducted at 3PM
Friday, November 8, at Ebenezer
Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. The
Reverend Max McCord officiated and inter-
ment was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in
Hogansville.
Pallbearers were Stuart Barton, Bill
Barton, Travis Chaffin III, Dill Williams, Joel
Keith, Jerry Keith, Tony Walls and Ken
Spradlin.
Mr. Chaffin was born April 17, 1925, in
Coweta County, son of the late Graydon and
Claire Braswell Chaffin. An Army veteran
of World War Two, he had lived in Hogansville
since 1948 and was a member of Ebenezer
Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. He
served as president of Carroll County
Pulpwood and Timber Company, Inc. from
1968 until the time of his death, and was a
member of the Georgia Forestry Association
and the American Pulpwood Association.
Survivors include a son and daughter-u-
law, Tab and Angela Chaff in of Hogansville;
a brother, Braswell Chaff in of GranbAlle; and
two grandchildren, Travis Chaffin III and
Tabitha Chaffin, both of Hogansville.
