By Frances Robinson CREATIVE- Dressed up as favorite book char- acters on Friday in grades 3-5 were: kneeling, Jordan Dorrough, Kallie Montgomery; stand- ing, Jake Stephens, Jackalin Neese, MarquisTerrell, Paul Prescott, Meridith Sinns and Randy Bailey. SUCCESS- The Hogansville Optimist Club sponsored their annual Turkey Shoot on November 23rd at the Hogansville Golf Club Range. The turnout was great and the weather cooperated. Many family and friends attended the cel- ebration at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gordon, Lone Oak. 00arpenter Circle Mee By PATTI PHILLIPS The Betty Carpenter Circle of the Hogansville First Baptist Church met with Mrs. Lillian Howell Monday afternoon, November 18 with Litlian Howell, Joyce Williams, Helen Stephens, Mavis Garrett, Fletcher Acree, Patti Phillips and Nettie Rowe attending. Call to order, opening prayer, reading of minutes and treasurer's report were by Lillian Howell, Fletcher Acree, Helen Stephens and Lillian Howell, respectively. The ladies were remind- ed that the shoe boxes are due now and to send Thanksgiving cards to the shut-ins assigned to them. Also during the business meeting, decorations for the I.x)ttie Moire Christmas Banquet December 4 at the church were discussed and plans made. Hostesses for the ,January, 2003 meeting are Mavis Garrett "and tlelen Stephens. The meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Helen Stephens. Mavis Garrett distrib- uted offering envelopes for Lottie Moon. December 240 is the Week of Prayer for International Missions and Lottie Moon Christmas offer- ing. Due to the Christmas ban- quct, there will be no General WMU nor Betty Carpenter Circle meetings in December. The program was pre- sented by Li]lian Howell, "Following the Call, One Step at a Time...even is we don't know what the next step will be." The article was-about I)rri Se(;raves. Patti Phillips gave the Call to Prayer, read Ephesians 1: 18-23 and prayer focus, which was: Koyaka of Cote d'Ivoire. She then read names/places of service of missionaries having a birthday.
