Congratulations to Martha Ann Patterson and Benny Maya, who were unit- ed in marriage on Dec. 5 at John Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Oliver L. Wood performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of the late Robert Lee Brown and the late Jessie Mae Brown of Grantville. The groom is the son of the late Ben Maya and the late Ideather Maya of Jesup. We wish them Love and Happiness. Our belated sympathy goes out to the family of Willie Bailey, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Grantville in his death. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Get-well wishes are extended to: Lucille McDuffie and Elean Stewart of Grantville, who underwent surgery at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Rev..James F. Booker of Lone Oak is resting in Fairburn Healthcare Home and Eura Mae Sewell of Hogansville is resting in Rhodes Healthcare Home in Decatur. Laura Bell Lesley is a patient at West Ga Medical Center. The refreshments were courtesy of Community Bank and Trust, which also had cakes and sweet treats for sale in the Georgia Room with the proceeds benefiting the Downtown Development Authority. Photo By ANDY KOBER GOOD FRIENDS - Despite his busy schedule, Santa and Mrs. Claus took time to visit with the children after the parade and are shown with Kevin Wegienka. Returning to the home of Ron and Betty Galloway, a number of children visited with the jolly old elf. Each child that visited Santa received a treat from Wegienka courtesy of United Bank. They were the Troup County Champions in the 9-10 year old division.
