After several lead changes, the LaGrange Grangers finally defeated the Callaway Cavaliers, 63-60 Saturday night. A week ago the Cavaliers shocked the Grangers in their first contest. 60 58 at the buzzer with a three pointer by Reggie Jackson. Jackson led the CAVS with 21 points including hitting two three-pointers in the fourth to put Callaway ahead after being down 45-41 at the beginning of the quarter. With five plus minutes to play, Joseph Spagnola, who played a good game, scored to give Callaway a 54-50 lead. The Grangers refused to go quietly and answered with nine straight points to go up, 59-54. "We should have won this game," Head Coach Terry Hayes. "We lost it because of too many turnovers." That's what you get with a young and inexperienced team, he said. Callaway defeated Troup on Friday night to even their record at 2-2 and LaGrange is 7-1. The Lady Cavaliers keeps rolling as they soundly defeat- ed the LaGrange Lady Grangers, 41-19 to keep their record unblemished at 4-0. The Lady CAVS spark plug, Stacey Smith was out due an injury but that didn't slow the cavalry down as Shari Cox and Kisha Owens led Callaway attack. Callaway built a 21-9 half- time lead and opened it up to 30- 14 by the fourth quarter. Owens was high scorer for the Lady Cavaliers with 13 points and Cox netted eight. The Lady CAVS defeated Troup on Friday night. The Cavaliers and Lady Cavaliers will participate in the Greenville Christmas Tournament this weekend.
